Overcoat is a New York-based genderless brand which established by Oomaru Seisakusho 2. The lead designer Ryuhei Oomaru moved to New York in 2006 and founded Oomaru Seisakusho 2 in 2008 carrying the patterns for The Row, Gabriela Hearst, Alexander Wang, Jason Wu, etc.
The label’s name derives directly from the fact that its first garments were overcoats. The concept of its original collection was “wearing New York.” This reflects Oomaru's attitude for designing inspired by his walks through New York City. Overcoat continues to create art clothing as well as pieces for everyday wear, and to find ways to mix tradition and innovation.
